We are deeply saddened to note the passing (Oct 2023) of our much-loved friend, long-time member and Honorary President, Gill Burd.
Gill joined the Players in 1970 and appeared in over 40 plays with us. She was an extremely talented actor, who always had time to pass on her wisdom and advice to the younger members. Gill joined the committee and became chairperson for many years, guiding the players forward with her usual blend of hard work, diligence, humour and love. Upon "retiring" from the stage, Gill took on the responsibility of organising our front of house team, ensuring that audience members were always made to feel welcome.
Gill returned to performing in 2018 in our remembrance performance of "At the Going Down of the Sun."
Gill's final performance was, fittingly, where it all started for her in 1970 - at Frodsham Community Centre, as part of their 50th Anniversary celebrations.
