2013 - Alice in Wonderland

2013 Alice In WonderlandCharles Lutwidge Dodgson (Lewis Carroll) was born locally in 1832 at Daresbury Rectory and published “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” in 1865. Since then the book has become one of the most popular childrens’books of all time, competing with Shakespeare in the number of famous quotations it has produced. This special adaptation for the stage sticks closely to the familiar story of Alice falling down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar animals and eccentric people.

The White Rabbit, the Caterpillar, the Duchess, the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, the Dormouse, Queen of Hearts and all the other character Alice meets will appear along with some of Lewis Carroll’s “way out” poems, such as “The Walrus and the Carpenter” and “The Jabberwocky”. The performances are sure to appeal to young and old – to grown-ups with happy childhood memories of the characters and the zany poems, and to young people who will love getting to know all the crazy characters.
